Armenia

While teaching photography at New Vista High School, I received a grant to conduct a photography project involving students in Boulder, Colorado and students in Yerevan, Armenia. The goal of the project was to link students in two cultures using digital cameras and the Internet. During this exchange, students were able to express, compare and contrast views of their respective cultures and daily lives. To prepare for the project, I traveled to Armenia to deliver digital cameras and work with the corresponding school, School 198, in Yerevan. The portraits shown are of the Armenian educators and students who I met and worked with. Other images include the school, apartment buildings, and the local surroundings.
